After decades of research and billions spent in clinical trials, we still have a problem with cancer drug delivery, says biomedical engineer Elizabeth Wayne. Chemotherapy kills cancer — but it kills the rest of your body, too. Instead of using human design to fight cancer, why not use nature’s? In this quick talk, Wayne explains how her lab is creating nanoparticle treatments that bind to immune cells, your body’s first responders, to precisely target cancer cells without damaging healthy ones.

This is good but not good if not everyone can afford it even with the NHS in my country would it be available to any one even those that can't afford it
Dr Elizabeth Wayne … U Rock !!!
fbi wants to know your location
I want to do this treatment !
What a brilliant young lady.keep up the good work
Ain’t gon happen with pharma greed, or it will cost like $1000000000000000 for one treatment so only billionaires can get it
I like to huge step forward!
Why still use animals for that?
I suppose there are enough volunteers.
Fantastic talk, very exciting
Genius!! Wow I'm very interested
Sexy and smart
Amazing , cause it has a lot of application not only in treating cancer but almost all type of diseases . when applied it will make a lot of difference .
Congratulations.
What cloncusion about this video?
So then act upon it… The Science is at our finger tips but greedy human civilization keeps pushing it back…
Keep up the good work.
Wow, such a good news, it cast so much light and I'm sure billions of people will be helped in the future, and lifes will be saved. Thank you for this. Wow.
I'm curious though if this can affect immune system in anyway. I have auto-immune disease where my immune system go crazy and attack healthy cells for no reason. You know, there's no known medication for auto-immune disease yet, they just relieve symptoms. After seeing how biomedical engineering can beat the mighty cancer, I hope someday auto-immune diseases will be beat too. Anyway, again, thanks a lot for this. Again, wow!
som parts of this presentation is bs like the last part were she said that the immunesystem could get past the Blood-Brain-Barier which is not true (and thankfully so)
Nice stuff, but I am skeptical about the clinical efficacy. Cancer is smarter than that. This is concenptually similar to antibody drug conjugate, which has not proven to work well. But good stuff nontheless.
Will never happen. Money is King
Awesome
This is phenomenal, probably has been known of for awhile. But this really needs to be put out there, get to sharing it people! Give the sticky balls some momentum otherwise this won't stick.
Who can sumerize it for me?My English listening ability is not enough to help me understand!
That’s REAL news. Awesome!
Correct me if I'm wrong since I'm not a cancer expert, but I thought one of the problems with cancer is that cancer cells disguise as your own body cells so your immune system has trouble targeting specifically cancer cells. Nevertheless, this is a great direction to head for drug delivery
That's a phenomenal discovery. Hope it will be available to the masses soon!
